There are times of the year where a photographer waits for that ONE shot that will make him happy. This could be one of those moments. It was a warm day in Seattle, it had rained the previous days (which cleans up the air here) and the moon was supposed to be out in full effect.

If you were standing in the middle of the street by Pike Place Market, turned to look at the city, this is what you would see. Sun was setting, the market was empty, but the signs were on, so this was a shot I wasn’t gonna miss.

On our flight back home from California, the pilot had announced that we were actually early, so he decided to bank the plane over north Seattle and as he did, banked right over the city and I was able to grab this shot out of the window of plane!  I doubt this will ever happen again, so I’m lucky I was able to come away with a shot.

Marc Staiger and myself figured that the day was going to be really nice so we had planned a trip downtown to take some shots. We actually went to Kerry Park on Queen Anne and camped out for a few hours because we knew it was gonna be an awesome sunset. Sure enough, as the sun started, Kerry Park was packed full of people, but we had the best spots.
